WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - The man arrested for first-degree murder in connection to a Father's Day barbecue shooting that left one person dead is now wanted by police.

The Wichita Police Department said Friday afternoon that 33-year-old Eric Gonzalez-Gutierrez is wanted for violating pre-trial restrictions.

Gonzalez-Gutierrez was arrested on June 16 for charges including first-degree murder and felon in possession of a firearm and was later released on bond.

Police say Gonzalez-Gutierrez cut his ankle monitor on June 21.

If you have any information on Eric's whereabouts, please call 911 or WPD Detectives at 316-268-4407. To provide anonymous tips, use Crime Stoppers by scanning the QR Code or calling 316-267-2111.

Police confirmed to KAKE News on Friday that Gonzalez-Gutierrez posted two percent of his $1 million bond through Second Chance Bond Company. The industry standard is ten percent.

Police say they have been fighting the issue of bond companies allowing lower than 10 percent bonds for years now. Lawmakers recently passed a bill requiring all murder suspects to post 10 percent of their bond, but that law does not go into effect until July 1.
