GODDARD, Kan. (KAKE) - Blink Doorbell camera footage shows a man opening the door, and walking into to a house in Goddard early Thursday morning that isn't his.

"You could hear her run through the kitchen, and she's screaming, 'Mom, someone's in the house. Someone was in my room. There's a man in the house,'" said homeowner Katie Long.

Long said she believed her daughter Jojo was dreaming when she said she saw a man, in her bedroom.

"I thought it was a dream at first, but then I knew it wasn't," Jojo said. "I felt my dog jump up in my bed, so I was like, Oh, it's not a dream."

Goddard Police Chief Lance Beagley said that several other incidents Thursday morning in Goddard were linked to the same suspect who walked into the Long's home.

"A vehicle had been located at another residence that had been left there by what appeared to be the same suspect," Beagley said. "The homeowner there had confronted that individual. And as the morning progressed, we learned of other homes and residences that had been entered."

As KAKE's news crew pulled into Goddard early Thursday evening for an interview on the developments, they saw several units racing east on Highway 54. Beagley said that they were headed to a nearby mobile home park to take the suspect into custody.

"Whenever someone has home video of a crime occurring, that provides us with very good evidence and in a small setting, as Goddard and the surrounding community," Beagley said. "People know each other, and I think that helped to identify the suspect."

The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office confirmed Friday morning that 19-year-old Tyrone Lucas was jailed Thursday night for two counts of aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, interference with law enforcement, possession of marijuana, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, theft and criminal possession of a weapon by a felon.

The Longs say they're stepping up their security and they'll be watching their doorbell camera closely from now on.

"My anxiety is so high all the time I like, get up even out of bed to check it and it's just really tired last night and didn't even think about it," Katie Long said. "That one time. It happened."
