Man dead after being hit by train in Hutchinson

HUTCHINSON, Kan. (KAKE) - A man is dead after being hit by a train Tuesday afternoon.

Officers responded to a train versus pedestrian call in the area of Avenue D and Washington around 1:45 p.m.. Upon arrival, officers found 61-year-old Daniel Raya injured on the railroad tracks. Officers attempted life-saving measures, but were unsuccessful. Raya was pronounced deceased on the scene by medical personnel.
