EMPORIA, Kan. (KAKE) - An arrest warrant has been issued for a 36-year-old man accused in the deaths of two Kansas women whose bodies were found in eastern Colorado last week.

Phillip Lieurance is accused of killing 44-year-old Linda Estrada and 39-year-old Amy Ford, both of Emporia, according to KVOE. The two were last seen alive in Denver on September 8, and they were reported missing days later.

Lieurance has been in the Lyon County Jail since September 11 on numerous charges including five counts of aggravated battery, aggravated assault, DUI, two counts of reckless driving, drug distribution, criminal damage to property, failure to report an accident, and fee or attempt to elude law enforcement.

The bodies of two missing Emporia women were found dead in rural eastern Colorado on Wednesday, police say.

The Emporia Police Department says the bodies of 44-year-old Linda Estrada and 39-year-old Amy Ford were located after a 10-day-long investigation after the two were reported missing on September 11. Police say they discovered Linda and Amy had been together in Colorado the previous weekend.

The EPD Investigations Division utilized cellphone technology along with security videos and "solid police work" to track Linda and Amy's movements through Colorado, the department said in a release

Authorities in Colorado spent five days searching with K-9s, airplanes, drones and ground searches before the women's bodies were found on Wednesday.

A person of interest to the case is currently in custody on charges not related to this specific investigation, the EPD said. The person's name has not been released.

The investigation has been turned over to an eastern Colorado Sheriff's Office and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.

"While Linda and Amy’s deaths are not the outcome we’d hoped for, the men and women of the Emporia Police Department offer our condolences to their families and want you to know how many people cared about finding them," the department said.
