WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - On Thursday, Wichita police arrested a dozen and a half people on various charges stemming from a prostitution sting. 

The Wichita Police Department said "officers from the Broadway Corridor Team, South CRT, SIB CRT, South Community Policing and the Vice Unit conducted a special assignment focused on those attempting to purchase sexual relations in the Broadway Corridor."

WPD said 18 individuals were arrested during Thursday's special assignment. Sixteen of them were listed in Sedgwick County booking records Friday morning. Charges include patronizing a prostitute, failure to comply with mapping restrictions and loitering for the purpose of soliciting. 

 

It was the 19th sex trafficking special assignment conducted by the Broadway Corridor Team and Vice. In total, 172 people have been arrested from those assignments. 

The Broadway corridor stretches from Pawnee to 21st Street North and from Water to St. Francis.
