Wichita police said Sunday afternoon on Facebook that the 11-year-old boy had been found safe. No additional information was provided.

The Wichita Police Department is asking for the public's help in finding a missing child.

Police say 11-year-old Joan Ibarra was last seen Thursday at Hamilton Middle School at 1407 South Broadway. It is believed that he walked away from the school at around 10:15 a.m. 

Ibarra is Hispanic, stands around 4-foot-8 and weighs 80 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing black pants and a gray sweater. 

Officer Paul Cruz shared the information again during the department's public safety briefing Friday morning. 

"Due to...his age and the temperatures and everything else, we wanted to make sure we communicated with the public for their help and assistance in trying to locate this juvenile," he said.
