Sedgwick County authorities are investigating the shooting death of a mother, possibly at the hands of her son.

Deputies were called just after 10:30 p.m. Wednesday to a shooting in the 3200 block of North 159th Street East, near Andover. They arrived to find the 41-year-old woman, identified as Lisa Marie Trimmell, who had been shot. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Capt. Mark Pierce with the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office said there were two juveniles in the home at the time of the shooting.

When dispatching authorities to the scene of the shooting, Sedgwick County dispatcher says, "...mother attacked the brother and she [sic] shot her." That's according to scanner traffic recorded and archived by Broadcastify.com.

The two juveniles were taken in for questioning.

Lt. Tim Myers said Trimmell's death is being investigated as suspicious and that no arrests have been made. He said he doesn't anticipate releasing additional information until the case has been concluded and presented to the district attorney's office.
