Hutchinson police identify victim, suspect in deadly shooting
An official with the Hutchinson Police Department says a suspect has been arrested in connection to a deadly shooting Friday morning.
Officers were called just after 6:30 a.m. to a home at East 30th and Waldron. Capt. Troy Hoover said officers arrived to find a man dead of multiple gunshot wounds.
Capt. Hoover identified the victim as 42-year-old Clarence D. Allen.
Police took the suspect, 34-year-old Quinton Moore, into custody and booked him into the Reno County jail for first-degree murder.
Capt. Hoover said Moore arrived at the residence early Friday morning, shot Allen multiple times and immediately fled the home.
"Later in the morning, a person close to the victim entered the home at 1701 East 30th Ave. and found Mr. Allen deceased and called 911," Capt. Hoover said in a news release.
Hoover did not comment on the relationship between the suspect and the victim. The investigation is ongoing.
Kansas Department of Corrections records show Moore has prior convictions of criminal damage to property, burglary and criminal discharge of a firearm.
