One person is in custody in connection with a shooting in south Wichita.

Police are searching for more suspects and the victim of that shooting.

Wichita police got responded to several calls of shots fired just after 12pm Saturday in the 1600 block of Sedgwick Street. Officers on the scene tell KAKE News there was some sort of altercation in the area.

Officers believe a car crash in the neighborhood may have been connected to the shooting, but declined to release specifics only to say the people in the altercation somehow knew each other. They also had cornered off a mobile home in the area.

Investigators were told that a shooting victim was en route to a nearby hospital, but none of those facilities received a patient with those types of injuries.
