A new restaurant is getting ready to open in Wichita and it's already getting a lot of attention.

Fetch will be the first pet friendly restaurant to serve gourmet treats and meals for dogs. It's located at 7718 E. 37th St. N., in the former Pacific Coast Pizza building.

"I think it's really cool," said Anita Pack. "l think we would really enjoy that."

Owners Greg and Pamela Buss say they were inspired by their two standard poodles Chuck and Solomon. Their goal was to create the perfect dining experience that includes dogs.

"We'll actually have a dog menu with things like the 'Fur Ball', said Greg. "That is actually just hamburgers and rice. Kind of a meat ball type thing."

Serving breakfast and lunch only, customers will have the option of dining inside where it's dog free or enjoy the patio with their best friend. The building sits in a plaza between the Willowbend Pet Hospital and the Hairy Sofa Grooming Salon. The concept is sitting quite well with dog lovers.

"I think it was super smart of them to do it like this. I don't know if it was intentional but it is very smart," Pack said.

"I was excited about it cause as far as I know Wichita doesn't have anything like that, " said Tracy Reimer

Fetch plans to offer special features including a walking service that will walk your dog while you eat. The restaurant plans to officially opens next weekend.
